Hamburger Noodle Bake

The Linger In country kitchen was the hub of much activity. Here Grandmother Linger prepared food for her family as well as many guests. There was always the smell of home-baked goods and her great beef dishes. This noodle bake was especially a favorite of family and friends....Betty Linger

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

2 cans tomato sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1 package medium-sized noodles (8 to 10 ounces)

1 carton sour cream

1 package cream cheese (3 ounces)

6 green onions - or 1 medium-sized onion, chopped

1 cup shredded cheese

Simmer beef, tomato sauce, salt, and sugar 15 minutes. Cook noodles. Mix sour cream, cream cheese, and onion together. In a 2-quart baking dish, alternate twice in casserole -- first noodles, then onion mixture, then ground beef. Top with cheddar cheese and bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
