Find
the perfect rustic, romantic
cabin on
Whidbey Island, or a mountain retreat in the cascades. or
how about a townhouse in Seattle. Washington State is one
of the most landscape dramatic in the country with its
Pacific Northwest bordering Canada. Its largest city,
Seattle is cosmopolitan and vibrant protected the the
mighty peaks of Mt. Rainier. Perhaps its greatest asset is
its proximity to the glorious rural scenery of Puget Sound
. The islands here are stepping stones to the Olympic
Peninsula to the west, with coastal mountains that merge
in to beautiful beaches. The whole Puget Sound area is
filled with
bed and
breakfast hotel lodging, fine
restaurants
and shopping and plenty of venues for fishing and water
sports. The Olympic National Park is not to be missed. Not
quite as rainy as the mountains to the northeast, the
southern coast is flatter and more accessible. A few hours
east you can marvel at the wasted volcanic scenery of
Mount St Helens. Much drier and more desolate, the
sprawling prairie-plateau that makes up most of eastern
Washington offers northern wineries and rolling hills on
the way to Spokane and the Grand Coulee Dam. Come travel
the Cascade loop, a memorable 400-mile round-trip through
the stunning Cascade Mountains.
