The
Eastern Region of Vermont is known for its natural beauty
all four seasons of the year. Dominating the landscape are
the Green Mountains, these very old mountain have been
sculpted to their present form through several ice ages.
Clear-running rivers and streams offer great fishing spots
and attract an abundance of wildlife. Many wild creatures
live here year-round, including moose, beaver, deer, wild
turkeys, and black bears. The quaint village of Woodstock
has been called "the prettiest small town in America."
Settled in 1768, it has a covered bridge in the middle of
town and stately homes and bed and breakfast inns
surrounding the village green. Visit the
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park
(Vermont's only national park), The Billings Farm &
Museum, Vermont Institute of Natural Science. Embodying
Vermont's natural way of life, this region offers visitors
convenience to world class hiking, skiing, biking,
fishing, and golf as well as playing host to some of
America's premier outdoor events.
