Virginia Log Cabin at Poague Run is a
no-host vacation home in the country -- the perfect retreat to
enjoy the natural surroundings while staying in elegant,
spacious quarters.
The cabin features a roomy master bedroom
with a queen-sized bed, spacious closet and Jacuzzi and its
master bath has a tub-shower, tile floor and cathedral
ceiling. The loft has a convertible queen-sized sofa bed and
color television. The kitchen contains all the conveniences of
home with a full-sized refrigerator, Jenn Aire cooktop, wall
oven and dishwasher. A full compliment of cookware, utensils,
and tableware are provided. A second bedroom with a
queen-sized bed, large closet and half bath are located on the
first floor. Antiques accent the rooms and are set off against
old woodwork and floors recycled from a smaller cabin
originally on the site. A large wood-burning stone fireplace
is featured in the great room where there is a queen-sized
leather sleeper sofa. The heat is gas hot water with
individual room controls. For your comfort, ceiling fans are
located in the master bed room, loft and great room. The cabin
is also centrally air-conditioned.
Enjoy a spectacular sunset from the rocking
chairs or swing on the front porch. Have a soirée or
barbecue on the large back porch furnished with "ice
cream chairs and tables". Both gas and charcoal grills
are provided. Play a game of badminton, croquet or horseshoes
or spend a quiet evening reading from a collection of books
inside.
The Cabin at Poague Run is excellent for
one or two couples or a family to enjoy all the comforts of
home while visiting this unique area of Virginia. Come revive
in the tranquil ambiance of this oasis in the woods. |
The breathtaking landscape revives your
sensitivity to nature. Take a long hike or canoe down the
river nearby.
The Blue Ridge Mountains and George
Washington National Forest afford you many wonderful outdoor
activities.
Stay close to home and explore Historic
Lexington or the Natural Bridge. Visit the Virginia Military
Institute or Washington and Lee University. Recall the Civil
War heroes and tour Robert E. Lee Chapel or Stonewall
Jackson's house.
If you're a horse lover, the Virginia Horse
center is close by. About an hour's away drive is Thomas
Jefferson's Monticello and the University of Virginia. |
