Cucumber Sauce

Ingredients

1 cup sliced cucumber

2-1/2 to 3 Tablespoons sugar

1-1/4 teaspoons salt

1 to 2 red/green chili peppers (crushed)

2 Tablespoons shallots

1 Tablespoon rice vinegar

1 Tablespoon water

In a serving bowl, arrange cucumber, shallots, and chili peppers in layers. Mix vinegar, sugar, salt, and hot water until the sugar dissolves or until a light syrup is formed. Pour over the cucumber and serve.
