Canada, the most eastern point in North America has its own
time zone. It is where you can catch a glimpse of icebergs,
whales, birds and wildlife. Hiking trails, parks, historic
sites and scenic driving routes lead you to beautiful ocean
and mountain view vistas. Trinity Bay is one of the
best-known communities in the province. Although the
permanent population is only about 350, there are some 50
architecturally significant buildings. The town is home to
Rising Tide Theatre's summer program and was the location
for the filming of The Shipping News, a high-budget 2001
Hollywood film starring acting icons Kevin Spacey, Julianne
Moore, and Dame Judy Dench. The recently aired CBC series "Random
Passage" was also filmed in the Trinity area. From bird
watch, whale watching, to iceberg spying, there is an
abundance to see and adventures to do in this northern
coastal region of Canada. Hunting, fishing, hiking,
kayaking, biking, and seafood dining are enjoyed here.
