Mile High View Cabin, sleeping eight to 12 people and featuring 3-1/2 baths, provides vacation rental lodging within the exclusive 1,000-acre Cataloochee Ranch near Maggie Valley and Asheville, North Carolina. At a 5,200-foot elevation, the ranch is perched quietly in the scenic Smoky Mountains. Both hosted and non-hosted arrangements are available. The living area has an open floor plan with cathedral ceiling, a massive stone fireplace, and hardwood floors. Beamed ceilings in the dining and the kitchen area add to the rustic feeling. A large, fully equipped country kitchen and dining area comfortably seat eight, while the spacious outside deck offers a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains while you are grilling or just lounging in the Adirondack chairs. At night, the stars are unbelievable!

Accommodations at this new home include four bedrooms with 3-1/2 convenient baths, sleeping eight to 12 people in ultimate comfort. The large master bedroom features a wood-burning fireplace underneath a lovely beamed ceiling with a full bath and a separate shower. Both upstairs bedrooms offer vaulted ceilings and are separated by a loft area for added privacy. One room has a queen-size bed and a single trundle bed, while the second room features a king-size bed plus a single trundle bed.

Bountiful home-cooked meals are served family-style in the two ranch dining rooms or at frequent outdoor barbecues or "steak outs." Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered -- please call for dinner reservations. Each individual guest is pampered with extra service and down-home hospitality. If you choose hosted arrangements, a full country breakfast is available for a small charge at the cabin.

The Cataloochee Horse Ranch was established over 60 years ago by the Alexander family and today is still privately owned. This Smoky Mountain retreat offers horseback riding, hiking, trout fishing, hay rides, cook outs, tennis, and a large hot tub, perfect for catching a glimpse of the spectacular mountain vistas and beautiful sunsets.

In addition to the 1,000 acres, the ranch is next door to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, teeming with activity, beauty, and wonder. In the evening, home-cooked meals and cookouts at the lodge are always a treat for overnight guests, giving them a chance to get to know one another.
