Fort
Myers has several islands that offer hiking, biking and
beach combing. Along the coast are the beautiful islands
of Sanibel and Captiva. Naples, an affluent beach city, is
one of the last cities before the Everglades. A
self-proclaimed "Golf Capital of the World" it
has numerous and glamorous golf courses. The Everglades in
the southern most area of Florida is without exception a
natural wonder of the world. Go air boating and see an
abundance of wildlife. This area is great for fishing,
hunting and photo taking. So bring your bathing suit, and
golf clubs and come stay in a beachside condo or beach
house. Key West is the southernmost point in the
continental United States and is actually closer to
Havana, Cuba than it is to Miami. This small island has a
rich and varied history. Fabulous weather is perhaps why
so many artists and writers have made Key West their home.
Ernest Hemingway, whose home is open to tours, Tennessee
Williams, and Robert Frost to name just a few have donned
sandals and embraced the beach. Nightlife, water sports,
sunning and relaxing. The famous Duval street takes on a
different persona at night as music flows out of its many
clubs, bars, restaurants and shops. From West Palm Beach
through Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and to the Keys exists a
phenomenal line of cities, golf courses, and ocean front
interests. Miami is a melting pot of architecture and
cultures with a strong Latin and Caribbean influence.
Miami Beach is famous for its superb sandy beaches and its
Art Deco buildings. Ft. Lauderdale known for its party
frame of mind offers sunny beach days and exciting night
life and restaurants. The cultural heart of Fort
Lauderdale is the River Walk and downtown arts district
where you can see art shows, opera and outdoor jazz
concerts. Historic downtown Lake Worth is definitely "worth"
touring. Its lovely shops, art galleries, boutiques, and
intimate bistros are ideal for a serene stroll through
town. Visit the exclusive designer shops of Palm Beach on
Worth Avenue, or catch a Tri-rail to trendy South Beach,
where you just might spot a celebrity. Bed and Breakfast
here can be upscale or just down home welcoming.
