Located in the desirable Ward Avenue area on the Mendocino Coast, the pet friendly Playa Delfin (Spanish for Dolphin Beach) defines "updated rustic" with its barn paneling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and open beam ceilings. The upscale furnishings are brand new and there is seating for 10 people at the dining room table.

Each of the four bedrooms is themed. The master suite includes a wet bar and private balcony. Lodging accommodations include four queen-size beds and two queen-size mattress pads. Sand dunes beckon you to play or walk down to the Haul Road and beach to frolic. There is a caretaker who lives behind the home, but given its hilltop location, privacy is still maintained.

As the house is at the top of the hill, the views are panoramic, but the best amenity by far is the free Mendocino root beer on tap provided by the homeowner.
