The combination of mountains, sky and water
presents nature at its finest, while the rustic elegance of
the cabins assures a fresh perspective in mountain
hospitality.
Located just 50 miles southeast of Jackson
Hole, Wyoming, nestled between the Gros Ventres and the Wind
River mountain ranges, the Flying A Ranch offers the
discerning adult the most distinctive of western vacations.
Seven rustic log cabins, the original mountain cottages of the
ranch, have been completely renovated and outfitted with
designer decor and modern luxury conveniences, enhancing the
native pine furniture and oak floors.
The logs from which the cabins are built
were hauled down from the surrounding mountains with horses,
and the hand-pegged furniture was crafted from native pine.
Cabins have private porches for viewing a breathtaking sunset
on one of the ranch ponds, wildlife moving through the quaking
aspen across the valley or the soaring peaks above the ranch.
Every day at the Flying A can be filled
with exciting things to do--or completely relaxed, with
nothing to do but enjoy the fresh mountain air, the view and
each other. For riding enthusiasts, the Flying A offers a
variety of trails with half day or full day rides arranged for
your convenience throughout the week. Each guest has a horse
of his or her own for the duration of their stay, and riders
will discover a new perspective on the splendor of the
mountains and the wildlife that abounds in the valley.
The Flying A staff provides the kind of
friendly service you'd expect from a family ranch: courteous,
with a relaxed, outgoing Western hospitality. The ranch ponds
and surrounding area's beautiful, clear mountain lakes and
streams are perfect for fishing for a variety of trout. The
ranch provides equipment and fly-fishing lessons for both
beginning and experienced anglers. For the active vacationer,
mountain biking and guided hikes may be your choice for
exploring the high country of the Bridger-Teton National
forest surrounding the ranch. |
Something about the mountain air makes you
hungry-- and the Flying A caters to your appetite with a
unique combination of hearty Western fare and continental
cuisine.
Dinners at the Flying A may feature Mexican
and Italian entrees along with perfect ranch steaks, charcoal
grilled on the deck, with crisp garden salads, homemade soups
and delicious desserts.
In the morning, the hearty ranch breakfasts
get you going, and lunch at the Flying A is not just a tip of
the hat to a scanty sandwich--it's a meal!
The Flying A has long been a
summer home for people who love the outdoors, with a tradition
of hospitality that stretches back a half a century.
The Hansen family has used the
ranch for family getaways in recent decades, and your hosts
are convinced you'd love sharing their mountain home with
them. It's a very special place, unlike anywhere else, and
Debbie and Keith invite you to enjoy its unique beauty.
