Nestled on twelve wooded acres, Morning Glory Inn offers
the comforts of home at a convenient location -- just 2.5
miles from the base of West Virginia's beautiful Showshoe
Mountain.
This unique bed and breakfast is ideal for those who want to
enjoy the snowy slopes of Snowshoe by day and relax with
little distraction at night. Unlike many stays, Morning Glory
offers a quiet refuge for a reasonable price and guarantees
privacy and comfort combined with the beauty of Slatyfork.
In the December 2002 issue of Inn Traveller, the Inn
was voted #1 "Best for Outdoor Sports Enthusiasts"
by inn-goers in the U.S. and Canada and was touted as the #6 "Best
Breakfast" in the 2004 issue. In the January 2003 issue
of Ski Magazine, Morning Glory was named as one of the
10 best value inns near a ski resort. Everett Potter said that
the Morning Glory Inn is a member of "a select group of
inns and bed & breakfasts with character, charm, and
comfort that know how to pamper."
Your room at Morning Glory is a welcome sight after a full
day on the slopes. Snuggle into a queen- or king-sized bed at
night, but not before you sink your tired muscles into the
whirlpool tub in your private bath. The spaciousness of each
guest accommodation is unique; a 15-foot vaulted ceiling in
the upstairs rooms gives travelers the space they want and
with large windows overlooking lovely mountain views. A common
area with a fireplace offers a warm retreat for reading,
viewing a movie or just sharing the company of friends and
other guests.
Breakfast is a special time at the Inn. Your mornings begin
with a full Bunyanesque breakfast, complete with freshly
brewed coffee and plenty of hospitality. An excellent time to
plan your day or visit with fellow guests, this morning meal
is always an anticipated treat.
The rest of your day may be spent swooping down the slopes
of Snowshoe, but there are also many other activities that
make the Inn a fabulous visit any time of the year.
Rod Molidor and Karin Anderson invite you to spend a week or
weekend in snowcapped country comfort. Visit Morning Glory Bed
and Breakfast during your next stay in the Potomac Highlands. |
Golfers will want to visit the The Raven Golf Club at
Snowshoe Mountain. Train buffs can choose from Cas Scenic
Railroad, the Durbin Rocket, the Cheat Mountain Salamander, or
the New Tygart Flyer. The National Radio Astronomy
Observatory, which boasts the world's largest steerable dish
and a new museum, is only 30 minutes away. Fish along the
Greenbrier River or hike and bike along its winding trails for
a change of scenery. Several seasonal events attract visitors
from around the country, including two Norba events, West
Virginia Motorcycle Rallys, Chili Cookoff, the International
Bowhunters Convention, the Wine and Jazz Fest, Colors of Fall
Blues Festival, and the Snowshoe Symphony Festival. |
