The nearly century-old Country House Resort
offers upscale elegance within the backwoods beauty of 27
forested acres crested on a rolling bluff overlooking more
than 1,100 feet of Green Bay shoreline.
Native stone and a framed cedar exterior
define the inn's sylvan roots (it was originally called "Forest
Idyll"), while private verandas provide sweeping views of
the bay and the estate's gardens and flowing fountains.
The Country House Resort's 46 rooms and
suites feature 10 basic floor plans, providing guests plenty
of choice in both style and price. Standard amenities include
private baths with tubs and showers, complimentary hair
dryers, irons and ironing boards, refrigerators, coffee
service, telephones, remote-controlled cable television with
VCR/DVD, wireless Internet access, and daily maid service.
Spacious suites and "specialty rooms"
appeal to honeymooners and couples celebrating anniversaries
and other special events. The resort's "specialty rooms"
come with the added amenities of two-person whirlpools,
two-person body spray showers, queen-sized beds, wet bars, and
microwaves. One- and two-bedroom suites, located on the first
and second floors, each have king-sized beds and a Great Room
with gas fireplace, two-person whirlpool tub, microwave, and
refrigerator/freezer. All of the larger suites on the second
floor each have a bedroom as well as the Great Room with water
views.
The Country House's premier accommodation,
though, is located on the third floor all by itself. This
spectacular 1,600-square-foot Penthouse Suite
has virtually everything, including a full kitchen, gas
fireplace, two-person whirlpool, and one of Door County's best
views of the bay.
All guests enjoy a deluxe European style
continental breakfast with freshly baked breads, salami,
cheese, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruits, and pastries served in
the fireplace lounge during the spring, fall, and peak seasons
and delivered to your room during the quiet season. For lunch
and dinner, you'll be within walking distance of Sister Bay's
various restaurants that share the village with an array of
interesting specialty shops and galleries. A 1/3-mile nature
trail along the shoreline leads into the village.
Family-owned and operated, Country House
Resort prides itself on its helpful, friendly staff and the
romance and charm it offers. Your hosts look forward to
helping you plan a special, relaxing getaway...you deserve it! |
If you're hosting a conference or other
event, the resort's fireplace lounge/conference room
accommodates up to 25 people, and the Penthouse Suite's Great
Room will accommodate up to 12 people. A guest computer with
24/7 online high-speed Internet access with Wi-Fi is located
in the lounge/conference room. With advanced notice, the
Country House staff also will be happy to serve coffee and
continental fare to those attending your business or other
small-group meeting. The manager will also be glad to assist
with catering and local excursions.
The estate's 27 wooded acres offer all of
the resort activities you have come to expect, including a
tennis court, heated swimming pool, various lawn games, and a
14-foot hot tub that's perfect for star-gazing. A dock for
fishing and swimming in Green Bay and complimentary row boats
and bicycles round out the outdoor amenities that make staying
here as fun as it is relaxing. |
