When you visit Ormsby Hill, you will be
surrounded by a spectacular setting with breathtaking views of
the Battenkill Valley and the Green Mountains, a patio and
porch inviting you to relax and renew, classical music in the
background, a place so serene that once you pass through the
antique wrought-iron gates and enter the front door, you will
never want to leave.
Dating back to 1764 and listed on the
Register of Historic Places, this handsome Federal mansion is
perfectly nestled in a rolling valley cradled by beautiful
mountains. Named for Captain Gideon Ormsby of the Green
Mountain Boys, it is believed that Ethan Allen hid out in this
building during the Revolutionary War. Later, Ormsby Hill was
honored to welcome Robert Todd Lincoln, President Howard Taft
and Ulysses S. Grant.
Your bed chamber will enchant you with a
canopy bed, a glowing fireplace, and a private Jacuzzi for

and ambience have all been achieved using romance and comfort
as guiding principles. The Innkeepers hope they have
