"The
Windham Hill Inn is about as perfect as an inn gets, especially if
you are looking for a romantic getaway." (Frommer's)
Overview:
Awarded one of 12 "Romantic Hideaways" by the Discerning
Traveler and selected in 2003 as a "Top Ten Romantic Inn",
the Windham Hill Inn offers an elegant, romantic setting for small
country weddings and civil unions from 2 to 75 people.
Perched on a hillside
overlooking the Green Mountains in Southern Vermont, the Inn is
located on 160 rural acres just 4.5 hours from New York, 2.5 from
Boston and 2 from Hartford. This peaceful haven features
breathtaking panoramic views, extensive gardens and manicured
lawns bordered by stone walls, luxurious accommodations and
amenities, award-winning dining, and a secluded setting -- the
perfect backdrop for a special celebration.
Ceremony/Reception:
Most summer weddings at the Windham Hill Inn are intimate outdoor
events under a tent (maximum 75 guests). In our busy seasons, the
couple, their immediate families, and closest friends reserve the
entire inn (21 rooms) for two nights. Additional friends and
family can be accommodated at nearby inns.
Smaller celebrations
are welcome during our non-peak season, when they can coexist
peacefully with other guests staying at the inn. The wedding party
can choose the 8-room White Barn or the 13-room main inn. Smaller
parties can also be accommodated. Windham Hill Inn is available
for weddings most of the year, except for Fall Foliage and the
Christmas Holidays.
In seasons too cool for
outdoor celebrations, we offer a private 1,000-square-foot Great
Room in the White Barn for a reception (for up to 50 guests).
Featuring birch and cherry floors, a wood-burning fieldstone
fireplace, a catering kitchen, and two bathrooms, the room is
perfect for a party and dancing.
Accommodations:
Twenty-one luxurious
guest rooms
and suites in two historic buildings feature private
balconies and mountain views, turn-down service, fireplaces or
Vermont Castings gas stoves, and Jacuzzis or soaking tubs à
deux. Relaxing in-room massages are also available.
Activities: The
Inn is convenient to many nearby activities and attractions such
as shopping, dining, culture and arts in Manchester, golf,
horseback riding, canoeing, scenic day trips, and more. However,
Fodor's has remarked that "there's rarely a reason to
leave the 160-acre property...an exquisite country retreat."

| Dining/Catering:
The Inn's Culinary
Institute of America-trained chef offers an exceptional dining
experience that "would rival those of many top urban
restaurants" (Boston Globe) plus an award-winning
wine list (Wine Spectator, "Award of Excellence"). "The
delicious meals feature exceptionally creative cooking with a
strong emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients" (Frommer's).
Our chef will customize your event menu and, if you wish, your
wedding cake. We can also recommend local sources for
photography, flowers, entertainment, and any required special
equipment. |
