Inn at Montpelier in Vermont rated Three Diamonds by AAA, is
comprised of two stately historic buildings, classically
Federal in design and enhanced and expanded on several
occasions, as is typical of New England design.
You are welcomed by the extravagant wraparound Colonial
Revival sun porch, a prominent landmark in a row of gracious
townhouses built by the founders of Montpelier.
In creating The Inn at Montpelier, great care was given to
retaining architectural details such as the Greek and Colonial
Revival woodwork, the ten fireplaces, the gracious front
staircases, and the glass-fronted china cupboards. The Vermont
Inn is a part of Montpelier's National Historic District and
takes you back to an era of gracious living.
Each guest room at The Inn at Montpelier is unique,
affording a different lodging experience with each stay. You
have your choice of king, queen, and twin bedded rooms, many
with fireplaces. Each accommodation offers the amenities of a
private bathroom, telephone, television, and air conditioning
to complement the fine reproductions and antiques.
You may wish to join others in the comfortable living room
or common room, play cribbage or backgammon by the hearth in
the game room, or enjoy a quiet moment upstairs in the
plant-filled sun room. The Inn at Montpelier's dining room,
with its marble fireplace and adjoining breakfast room, offers
a fine continental breakfast. A generous spread of pastries,
cereal, fruit, toast, yogurt, juice, and coffee is provided to
guests along with a hearty helping of your host's hospitality.
Pantries filled with goodies provide coffee and rolls for
early or late risers, and a variety of refreshments are made
available to you throughout the day.

miles from four major ski areas, and the many lakes and
streams nearby are ideal for fishing and water sports.
Restaurants, movie theaters, the 100-acre Hubbard Park, and
historic residential and business districts are all within
easy walking distance from the Inn.
A warm welcome awaits you at The Inn at Montpelier, where

Montpelier also offers an abundance of cultural activities.
Several performance and visual arts organizations are located
here, and Montpelier is the fortunate location of the T.W.
Wood Art Gallery and the Vermont College Campus of Norwich
University. The Pavilion Building, just next door to the
Capitol, has a museum offering the history of Vermont and its
people, the Governor's Corridor with its changing collection
of fine art, and a summer concert series on the lawn outside.
The Inn at Montpelier is a bed and breakfast retreat for all
seasons. As winter days get longer towards springtime, maple
sugaring begins, and a visit to one of the many sugar houses
is a must. Summer brings the smell of freshly mown hay from
the fields of the local dairy farms. Try picking your own
berries or buy them at the Farmers' Market at the Jailhouse
Common. Summer festivals and sidewalk sales give way to the
crowning glory of Vermont's seasons. Autumn must be seen to be
believed, and fall foliage activities abound throughout the
area. The pristine beauty of winter snow completes the cycle,
and Montpelier turns into "The Christmas City." |
