Here you can go back in time to a more leisurely age, when furniture was handmade and conversation was a fine art. They also offer the amenities of the 21st century with rooms that have private baths, telephones, and some refreshment centers, as well as heating/air-conditioning.

Maple Hall, a lovely red brick, white-columned home, was originally built by John B. Gibson in 1850 for his growing family. It became known as Maple Hall at the Maple Hill Plantation. In the summer of 1984, the Peter Meredith Family bought the home from Mr. Gibson's descendants. The Merediths fully restored this grand old mansion, and in 1985, Maple Hall joined the Historic Country Inns of Lexington as the third Inn.

Each of its individually decorated lodging accommodation has many antiques, private bath, and temperature control, and 10 rooms have working fireplaces. Old boxwoods surround the Inn, and the shaded patio and porches with rocking chairs welcome guests. A fishing pond and a variety of easy walking trails invite nature lovers to explore, discover wildlife, flowers, and fish. A tennis court and swimming pool add to the variety of outdoor activities.

Across the patio from Maple Hall is the restored Guest House with a cozy living room, kitchen, and three bedrooms with baths. Older than Maple Hall, this little jewel is decorated with the same loving care as each of the three Inns. The newest addition in 1990 brought the elegant Pond House to Maple Hall. The Pond House offers four suites, two mini-suites, and a gathering room. The gracious back verandas welcome you to view the fishing pond and rolling hills. These two lovely houses may be enjoyed singly or for a family reunion or mini-conference.

The intimate dining room and an enclosed Garden Room provide gracious dining for Inn guests and visitors. Their chef offers a tempting a la carte menu. Small business seminars and luncheons to gala wedding receptions on the lawn are available for reservation.
