The natural beauty of
this part of the Shenandoah Valley is second to none. Most
visitors return many times to grasp the beautiful Blue Ridge
and Allegheny Mountains and valley in between. Nature always
is the best show. A Bed and Breakfast at Llewellyn Lodge
offers the Region's best advice on Outdoor Activities. John
Roberts, a native of the area, has hiked all of the local
trails, and his Outdoor Guide lists his top twenty
hikes, which include the following: |
|
- Cold Mountain Hike
to over 4,000 feet with 360-degree view
- An Historic Walk in
town that takes you by the Historic sites and colleges
- A trip to Goshen
Pass, Virginia's most scenic natural area
- A splendid walk up
the highest waterfalls east of the Mississippi
- An in-town,
3-1/2-miler that is a great warmup walk in the morning or
evening
- The Chessie Trail,
offering great wildlife viewing along the scenic Maury River
- The Appalachian
Trail, close by with many options for circuit hikes
- Two wilderness
areas offering opportunities for the more serious hikers
|
 |
 |
- Several circuit
hikes off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, nice vistas
- A great walk up one
of Virginia's best trout streams, with a swinging bridge
- A fabulous mountain
hike and a dip in an historic mineral spa
- A hike to a remote,
scenic lake through beautiful hardwood forests
- Horseback
Riding: Call John to arrange for trips from one hour to
all day in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
- Tennis, Skeet
Shooting, Birding, Scenic Drives, and Wildlife Viewing
are all close by.
- Outdoor
Theatre: Finish off the day and unwind in a great
outdoor setting while enjoying a concert or play.

Center is within walking distance from the Lodge
and we can book you for a massage.
