Virginia's Bridgewater Inn and Cottage,
located seven miles south of Harrisburg and 18 miles north of
Staunton, offers the privacy of vacation rental lodging with
the warmth and personal attention of a bed and breakfast.
The town of Bridgewater in the Shenandoah
Valley is a mixture of the old and the new with its tapestry
of country churches, old farms, historic sites, and modern
conveniences -- horse-drawn buggies and SUV's, oil lanterns
and cable TV.
The galley snack area offers a refrigerator
with ice maker, a Cuisinart grind/brew coffeemaker, microwave,
blender, toaster, double sink, and fully stocked cabinets.
During warmer months you can enjoy the barbecue grill on your
private deck. Additional amenities include a telephone, cable
television with a DVD and CD player, iron and ironing board,
off-street parking, a laundry room, and fax service in the
main house.
In the morning, a full breakfast, complete
with room service, is brought to your room. For lunch, you can
order a picnic/day trip lunch basket filled with the goodies
of your choice. Complimentary evening drinks and light snack
are also available. Visit with your hostess in the common sun
room with hot tub, fireplace, sky lights, and wicker furniture
and get a feel for the area; she will be happy to help you
plan an adventurous day!
Two bikes allow guests to tour the area,
and bocce balls and a croquet set provide old-fashioned fun. A
nine-hole golf course can be found just down the street from
the inn, and a swimming pool can be used nearby at Bridgewater
College. Restaurants and shops dot the area, and all are
within walking distance. |
The Cottage Suite, with a private entrance,
offers central air conditioning and heat as well as a
king-size bed with Yves Delorme quality domestic linens
accented with Waverly drapes and pillows. There is also a
single window seat bed. A two-person Jacuzzi tub/shower,
robes, slippers, heated towel rack, and a cozy fireplace
provide the ingredients for comfort and romance. Flowers and
chocolates are available for a special occasion or just for
some pampering.
Also available is the three-room Inn Suite,
complete with kitchen galley, king-size bed, and bath with tub
shower. Amenities include a fireplace, telephone, TV/VCR/DVD
player, and a window seat with picture window, perfect for
dreaming.
