• Minimum stay: is 2 nights for suites and 2 nights for weekends. A three-night minimum stay is required on holiday weekends - Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Race weekends and Columbus Day.

• Payment: Credit card required to guarantee room reservation (We do not take deposits). MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Traveler's Checks, and personal checks accepted.
• Cancellation Policy: We have a seven day (one week) cancellation policy. If your must cancel your reservation, please cancel at least 7 days prior to scheduled arrival date (first day of reservation). Reservations cancelled with less than 7 days will be subject to a charge equal to the full reservation cost. We will do our best to resell any cancelled rooms and will refund for any resold rooms. Certain weekends and group reservations may be subject to extended cancellation periods. Cancellations made by email will not be considered unless you receive an email reply from the inn. It is suggested that unless you hear from us by email after cancelling, you backup your cancellation by phone.
• Restrictions: No smoking inside. Well behaved children age 2 and older are welcome. Small pet allowed with prior approval in some rooms. Candles are prohibited.
• Breakfast: Full three-course gourmet breakfast. Extended continental breakfast option for guests staying in suites.
• Lunch/Dinner: Private dinners for 6 or more. Dinner on Saturday night in during the winter season..

Turn right onto Water Lane and go 2 blocks to Duke St. The Essex Inn is located on the near right hand corner of Water Lane and Duke St and faces Duke St.
  From 17 South: At the first light in Tappahannock, (the water tower is on the right), turn left onto 360 (Queen St.) Go two blocks. The bridge will be in front of you and a 7-eleven will be on the far right corner. This is Water Lane. Turn right onto Water Lane and go 2 blocks to Duke St. The Essex Inn is located on the near right hand corner of Water Lane and Duke St and faces Duke St.
  From 360 West: After coming off the bridge, turn left at the corner of Water Lane, (there will be a 7-eleven on the near left hand corner.) Go 2 blocks to Duke St. The Essex Inn is located on the near right hand corner of Water Lane and Duke St and faces Duke St.
