Located in the heart of southern Utah, Bryce Canyon Country features some of the area's best scenery -- the colorful spiers of Bryce Canyon National Park, forest-covered mountains, and pink cliffs. Activities include horseback riding, mountain biking, sightseeing, photography, and, in the winter, cross-country and downhill skiing. Rockhounding, ghost towns, and Indian ruins are popular attractions.

Wildlife frequently seen in the area include mule deer, eagles, elk, mountain lions, antelope, and a variety of smaller animals such as delightful prairie dogs. Also at home in the area but less often observed are black bear, wild turkey, and bighorn sheep.

This is a perfect base location for your tour of Southern Utah. Scenic Byways 12, 143, and 89 link to several national parks (Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, and parts of Canyonlands), state parks (Kodachrome, Escalante Petrified Forest, and Anasazi Indian Village), and recreation areas. Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon North Rim, and Zion National Park are within short drives.
