Just outside Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World, Lake Hiawatha Guest House in the Texas Hill Country is set upon 2-1/2 acres overlooking Lake Hiawatha. This is a perfect place to enjoy weekend lodging as well as a weekly or monthly vacation rental.

Nestled in a very private area about one mile from Main Street, this two-bedroom, one-bath home is perfect for your anytime getaway.

Accommodations include the conveniences and comforts of a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and central air conditioning and heat. A "creative do-it-yourself continental" breakfast is provided. Relax on the front balcony with views of the lake. For that sense of utter privacy, the home has no telephone.

For those to whom shopping is a sport in itself, Western wear, saddles, cypress and Southwestern furniture, unique home decor, bookstores, antiques, and boutiques are just a few of the interesting shops you will find in Bandera. For a true taste of cowboy country, go horseback riding, take a walking or driving tour of Bandera, visit a rodeo or the Frontier Times Museum, and have a night out at a local honky tonk, with live dances held Wednesday through Saturday nights throughout the year.

Do you love the Texas Hill Country and the feeling of being close to nature? Come find it at the Lake Hiawatha Guest House and get "unstressed."

You will find so much to do during your stay in the Texas Hill Country. There's nothing like Bandera for fishing, migrant bird watching, watching deer and other wildlife, shopping, eating, and dancing. More than 200 species of birds have been identified in Bandera County. There are excellent public birding opportunities in the Hill Country State Natural Area, Lost Maples State Natural Area, and Bandera City Park, with private birding tours available.

The Medina River flows through the city, with rentals available for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Both the avid and casual cyclist will find plenty of roadways plus biking and walking trails of varying terrain in the adjacent Hill Country State Natural Area.
