You are cordially invited to experience
Country Woods Inn, a rustic, bucolic setting within
walking distance to the historic downtown Glen Rose
square.
Century-old farmhouses and quaint
cabins, nestled in a wooded valley on the banks of the
Paluxy River, are an ideal getaway for friends and family.
Come enjoy one of the newest accommodations, a renovated
Santa Fe Railroad car that sleeps four! Opened in May 2004
is the Breakfast Barn...eat breakfast with the animals!
There are several lodging options
available. No matter what your accommodation, the forty
wooded acres are so private you may not see your hosts.
You will, however, be indulged with abundant amenities,
including down quilts, terry bathrobes, and a generous
continental breakfast. |
| Main House
|
sleeps twelve people and has a large
country kitchen and dining room, living room with fireplace,
and sprawling rock patio. Its three bedrooms and upstairs
loft, each with its own bath, can be reserved together or
separately. |
| Prairie House |
has been renovated into two wings for
privacy and comfort, each with a kitchen. One wing has one
bedroom and a clawfoot bath, while the other has two
bedrooms and a rock shower bathroom. |
| 1890's Farm House |
situated in the barnyard area, is also
divided into two wings with kitchens and offers two
wonderful rock porches. There are two bedrooms and a
clawfoot bath in one wing and one stained glass bedroom and
rock shower bathroom in the other. |
| Bunk House |
feels like a cottage in the English
countryside. The cabin provides three small bedrooms, a full
kitchen, living room, and a walking arbor that leads to a
barnyard of animals. |
| Saddle House |
is a small cottage with two full
beds, a full kitchen, and a large living area on a saltillo
tile floor. Large glass windows overlook the meadow and the
wooded hill -- a scenic delight in the mornings. |
| Santa Fe Railroad Car |
sleeps four in two bunk beds (the two
lower beds are double futon sofas). This renovated box car
nestled in the woods has a full kitchen, sitting area,
old-fashioned bathroom with clawfoot tub, and rock terrace. |
| Carriage House |
is a small (low ceilings!), rustic
cabin that sleeps four in two double beds. Enjoy a kitchen,
living room, shower bath, and porch overlooking the meadow! |
| Wedding Chapel |
For a unique and memorable wedding,
look no further than the Chapel in the Woods. Nestled in a
grove of trees, it has an old-fashioned bell tower, complete
with rope pull hanging through the roof to the floor, and
stained glass windows to create a unique ambiance that will
take your breath away. The chapel has 16 benches and will
hold approximately 50 people inside and another 25 people on
outside benches, and 25 more people can stand on the
creekside of the chapel and look in through the open
windows. Tables and chairs can be moved in for other events
such as retreats or classes. |
