Located in the Texas Hill Country, The
Running-R Ranch is a guest ranch with its focus on horseback
riding. The ranch offers rides not only on the ranch, but also
into the adjoining 5,500-acre State Park, to which they have
direct access!
Soak up the unspoiled beauty of more than
40 miles of breathtaking trails and choose from daily rides
from one to five hours in length. The Running-R Guest Ranch
offers relaxing rides along many varied trails with stunning
scenery. For experienced riders, there are some challenging
trails to test your skills. The friendly cowboys and cowgirls
will be glad to accompany you on rides you won't forget and
tell you something about the birds and plants as well as about
ranching and cattle, especially horses.
Running-R offers 14 cozy cabins, all
comfortably equipped for two to four persons with private
bathroom, air conditioning, heat, and a beautiful porch. Enjoy
a full breakfast and a home-cooked lunch served in the
Round-Up room.
CATTLE DRIVE - RunningR Ranch, Hill
Country State Natural Area Cattle Drive happens 4 times a
year. Space is limited so you need to sign up in advance.
Cowhands end their days with a western meal served on range,
listening to cowboy music and poetry to make the outing an
authentic and memorable experience. Participants can choose to
sleep on the range or in a bunkhouse style cabin for the
night.
Enjoy your dude ranch and horseback riding
vacation at the Running-R Ranch, where you arrive as a guest
and leave as a friend. |
If you want to take a break from the
saddle, enjoy Bandera's hospitality with its shops and unique
restaurants, or have a ball in one of the authentic "Cowboy
Dance Halls" with live music at its best. Other options
include relaxing along the nearby Medina river; seeing
exciting rodeos; or taking a trip to Medina Lake, the Alamo in
San Antonio, or one of the many little towns where Texas
history was written. Back at the ranch, hang out in the
Round-up room, where you'll meet other guests, play pool,
ping-pong, or watch TV. Hike the area, play a round of golf,
or stay at the ranch for a game of horseshoe pitching. If
you're in need of cooling off, sip a cool drink on the porch
or hop into the ranch's own swimming pool. |
