Haven River Inn is a refuge of peace overlooking the lazy Guadalupe River with 23 acres of trees and rolling meadows, deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country.

The bed and breakfast inn, lovingly renovated, was built in 1911 by lumber tycoon Albert Steves as his family's summer home. Haven River Inn is located in Comfort, Texas, a central location for enjoying other Hill Country attractions. Comfort, a quiet farming community settled by German immigrants in 1854, boasts 121 sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

A variety of lodging accommodations await you at Haven River Inn. The main house has 13 uniquely decorated rooms with your comfort in mind. You'll find fresh country charm or more rustic style punctuated with the home's original antiques. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, private bath, and king, queen, or two twin-size beds. A full breakfast each morning is included with your stay. There is also a cottage, called the Nest, with three bedrooms, two baths and a full kitchen. The Nest sleeps up to eight people.

Haven River Inn has meeting facilities that can seat 10 to 60 people and a dining porch that can accommodate sixty. The facility is ideal for weddings, dances, reunions and retreats. A major focus of the ownership is to host Christian Retreats and meetings. Those in full-time Christian ministry enjoy a favorable rate Sunday through Thursday.

Whether vigorous or relaxing activities are on the mind, Haven River Inn can oblige. There is an oversized swimming pool, plus an unusual and beautiful gazebo with the appearance of petrified wood built by Dionicio Rodrigues around 1940.

You can relax with a book in the parlor, or in cooler months, enjoy a fire in the marble fireplace. Walk along the meadow, fish on the cypress-lined banks of the river, golf in a nearby championship course, or picnic in the shade.

Go swimming in the pool, or take a relaxing innertube ride down the river and see the beautiful country side.
