- Recommended Local Best Kept Secrets: Museum of Fine Arts
(world-class museum, 1 mile), The Menil Collection (world-class

this area), flora and fauna (Houston is one of the greenest cities
in the US), Rothko Chapel (Martin Luther King broken obelisk),
Downtown Houston Tunnel System (sounds boring but it's fascinating),
Galveston (still has the feeling of an old sea town), and Art Car
Museum (a-a-a-amazing). Also Sam Hampton's "Just a Shop"
(1/2 mile): full of trash and treasure, open by appointment only.
Sam's a sweet curmudgeon. It's one of Robin's Nests's favorite
places. Not well known -- a great find at reasonable prices.
