Nestled in the heart of Kemah and close to all the Boardwalk
attractions of Galveston's Gulf Coast lies the Clipper House
Inn (formerly the Sculpture Garden).
Situated on nearly an acre of manicured gardens are six
1930's cottages, each named after a famous clipper ship
befitting the design of the cottage interior. As one of
Kemah's oldest Bed and Breakfasts, the Clipper House Inn is
known for its tranquil gardens, unique cottages, and our Like
Staying with Friends warm and inviting atmosphere.
Clipper House Inn's six cottages originally served as "shotgun-style"
fishing shacks during the 1930's. The cottages are filled with
antiques and treasures from the owner's world travels and the
floor plans are cozy yet breezy. A stained glass sailboat
bearing your cottage's name will welcome you at the front
door; and if you check the kitchen, you'll find some coffee,
snacks, and champagne. Private bathrooms feature traditional
claw-foot tubs (with showers) or Jacuzzi tubs, and bedrooms
come with queen-sized beds. Standard amenities include cable
television, VCR, ceiling fans, firewood, and barbecue
equipment, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with coffee
maker, microwave, toaster, stove, oven, refrigerator, and ice
maker. Additional amenities include hardwood floors and
ceramic tile, an eclectic collection of antiques and
artifacts, and all sorts of videos, books, and games. Linens
and towels are refreshed at your request.
Rates include overnight lodging, snacks, sodas, bottled
water, and breakfast cereals. Also included is the use of the
Cottage Carts if you don't feel like walking to the
restaurants, or you just want to explore Kemah (valid drivers
license and proof of insurance required).
From reservations at the perfect restaurant, to maps and
special complimentary tastings at local wineries, Innkeepers
Barbara and Jerry will be happy to help you plan a perfect
Galveston Bay stay. Come visit Clipper House Inn and you won't
want to leave this very special place. |
Area attractions in this Gulf Coast vacation spot include
Space Center Houston, Clearlake Chamber, San Jacinto Monument
Park, Battleship Texas, IMAX, the Moody Gardens, Seawolf Park,
Gulf Greyhound Park, the Armand Bayou Nature Center, Maas
Nursery, Galveston beaches, various outdoor musicals, and

Of course, you may choose to spend your entire time
recreating on the beach or sailing or deep-sea fishing on a
charter. There also are golf facilities in the area; and for
those who like to fish without moving, the longest man-made
fishing pier is just up the road in Texas City. |
