Lake Granbury Texas Bed and Breakfast are among the best!
And this 1890 Captain's House has been selected as one of the
TOP TEN properties in Texas for romantic and relaxing
get-a-ways. 1890 Captain's House is located on Lake Granbury,
just a short stroll from the Historic Square. James Hogan
Doyle, a founding father of Granbury, who was also a decorated
Civil War Hero, purchased the property in 1876. The early
settlers affectionately nicknamed him "Captain". The
original lower floor was built in the early 1880's, and the
upper additions were completed by 1900.
1890 Captain's House offers three beautifully decorated
Victorian suites and one charming room, all with private baths
and one with a Jacuzzi. All guests have use of the large
upstairs balcony overlooking the lake.
At the Captain's House, all guests are pampered each morning
to a full, hot gourmet breakfast tray delivered to their
rooms. If guests take the entire house and prefer to do so,
breakfast can be served together downstairs. Daily desserts
and drinks (non-alcoholic) are tempting delights to all
guests.
If you are looking for a Christian-hosted property, romantic
getaway, special occasion celebrations, peace and quiet in an
elegant setting, that special gift certificate, a place close
to all the activities, and you want to receive quality
service, excellent food, and southern hospitality, then this
premier bed and breakfast is reserved just for YOU!
Whatever the activity, whatever the occasion, you will be
glad you chose 1890 Captain's House on the Lake. As author
Jean Clairet exclaims, "1890 Captain's House... The Best
of the Past to enjoy in the Present... Where pampering and
excellent service is a way of life."
Your hosts, Bob and Liz Hayes, are proud to be members of
the Historic Accommodations of Texas. |
They are also proud that their premier bed & breakfast
has been featured in the January/February 2000 issue of AAA
Travel Magazine "5 Romantic Places in Texas", in
the Fort Worth Star Telegram four times, in the Dallas
Morning News (Jean Simmons) three times, on Good
Morning Texas, on Jack Chamber's TV Travel Show,
in Country Inns Magazine, and in Better Homes &
Gardens in 1994 as part of the Top Ten Remodeled Homes.
1890 Captain's House was chosen as a Hood County Favorite Bed
and Breakfast in 1998/1999 and was rated Top Ten Texas Best
Bed and Breakfast in THM for three years.
This property is also a member of Granbury Bed and
