Tyler, "The Rose Capital of America", is nestled in the piney woods of East Texas half way between Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. Tyler is one of the most beautiful cities in Texas. Its clean streets and historic homes and buildings are dressed with lush gardens and azalea blooms in the spring. Rolling hills are dotted with blooming dogwood and red bud trees mixed in the tall pines. Visitors from all over come to travel the Azalea Trail to see breath-taking gardens in the historic district.

In the fall, Tyler celebrates the rose with the annual Texas Rose Festival. Rich in heritage and tradition, the Festival offers enchanting ceremonial events including the Queen's Coronation, the Rose Show, the Queen's Tea, the Rose Parade and more. All of these events are amidst a backdrop of brilliant roses as vibrant and colorful as the community they represent.

Area attractions include Camp Ford, Caldwell Zoo, Cherokee Trace Drive Thru Safari Park, the Discovery Science Place, Fire Mountain Amusements, Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge, and Tyler Municipal Rose Garden and Museum.

Tyler is surrounded by lakes, the two largest being Lake Tyler and Lake Palestine where you will find an abundance of outdoor activities from golf, to boating, fishing and lakeside picnicking. The Caldwell Zoo in Tyler is one of the best small zoo's around with natural habitats for game animals, birds, and monkeys - this is a favorite year around attraction.
