Galveston is a barrier
reef island on the Gulf Coast of Texas, known for its historic
neighborhoods and a seven-mile seawall designed to protect the
city from floods.
Moody Gardens is a
not-to-be-missed extravaganza including the 1.5 million gallon
Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid with 1700 exotic plant and
animal species, the NASA-inspired Discovery Pyramid, Ridefilm
Theater, IMAX Theater and many other world-class attractions with
fine lodging and dining available.
Other attractions in
Galveston include the Galveston Island Railroad Museum, the Strand
and the Lone Star Flight Museum. Galveston is also home to several
historic ships: the tall ship Elissa at the Texas Seaport Museum
and USS Cavalla and USS Stewart, both docked at Seawolf Park on
