Denton sits at the tip of what's
known as the "Golden Triangle." Dallas and Fort Worth
serve as the triangle's base. The city, about an hour north of
Dallas, is full of small town charm and big city arts, culture,
education and entertainment.
Take a short drive downtown to the
award-winning historic town square, which boasts 140 renovated
structures including the magnificent Denton County Courthouse
built in 1896. Browse antique shops, art galleries, gift
boutiques, restaurants, and other establishments offering
everything from vintage clothing and out-of-print books to
entertainment and gourmet meals. On weekends enjoy a horse-drawn
carriage ride and listen to local live music on the courthouse
lawn.
Other area attractions include Texas
Motor Speedway, Texas Woman's University, the University of North
Texas, Little Chapel in the Woods, Lewisville Lake, Sky Theater
Planetarium, and Water Works - Denton Natatorium. |
