The city of Austin is
considered one of the most beautiful cities in the southwest with
its dramatic riverside landscape and a downtown that is lively
with music , commerce, entertainment and a great variety of
restaurants and retail.
Austin is considered the
premier city of Texas for many reasons. It is home to the
University of Texas and the Longhorn football team, the center of
state government with the majestic Capitol Dome, and the music
capital of the US. In fact once known for its country and blues
music, today Austin's music scene is as diverse as its growing
population. The city is a cradle of musical talent, once home of
the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and Janis Joplin, and currently home
base to music legend Willie Nelson. Movie companies and theaters
thrive in this city and home to the Wilson brothers, Matthew
McConneghy, Sandra Bullock, Jeannine Turner - to name a few.
