About: Artist Julie Sweeney

I love colors, textures, and become inspired by all sorts of mediums, and objects I see everyday. I have a love of mosaics, because it allows me to take the bits and pieces I find, and combine them into something entirely new. I can create something very simple and monochromatic or just go crazy and add in everything my heart desires. The beauty of mosaics can be seen in the whole piece, as well as the beauty of each individual part of the whole. My goal as a portrait artist is to create a portrait that captures a special moment in time, to be treasured for years to come. My portraits celebrate the spirit and beauty of the subject as well as a physical likeness.
