Set atop 170 acres of wooded Tennessee hills, Ridgetop Bed and Breakfast makes for an ideal stopover for those traveling the Natchez Trace National Parkway, which runs from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi.

Only four miles from Natchez Trace and only 1-1/2 hours from Nashville, Ridgetop is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the area's natural beauty.

This contemporary cedar home features picture windows and a huge deck overlooking woods with an assortment of wildlife. Antique pine floors and the scent of cedar combine with the peace and quiet of the country for a stay reminiscent of a simpler, more peaceful time.

Ridgetop provides three types of lodging accommodations for guests, all with antiques, private baths, and air conditioning. Choices include a rustic log cabin with a cozy fireplace, a secluded cottage with a loft, and a guest room inside the main house. Indoor amenities are plentiful, and outdoor scenery is stunning. Those who enjoy nature will have no problem soaking in their fill of scenery.

Each morning your hosts provide a full country breakfast to begin your day. Unique egg dishes, homemade breads and jams, and fresh blueberries in season highlight this bountiful meal, which is available to all guests.

With its clear streams, a waterfall, and endless wildflowers, Ridgetop sets the scene for relaxation.

Hiking along the serene landscape is a favorite activity, as is canoeing the Buffalo River. Columbia, Tennessee, just a half-hour away, is filled with historic sites and antebellum homes, including Rippaville, the Rattle and Snap Plantation, and the home of President James K. Polk. A nearby Amish community is a wonderful place to search for homemade crafts and foods for sale.

Bill and Kay also have a reservation service for other bed and breakfasts along the Natchez Trace and can help you plan a trip.
