  • Recreation and Activities: Beach activities at South County beaches, kayaking, hiking, and sailing.
  • Attractions & Special Events: Wickford Village, Narragansett Bay and Beach, Gilbert Stuart's Birthplace, Smith Castle, Quonset Point, the University of Rhode Island, Sakonnett Vineyards, and the cities of Newport and Providence. Also: The Wickford Art Festival and the Tuesday-night music series.
  • Recommended Local Best Kept Secrets: The water lilies at the end of July and the beginning of August, and Rome Point Wildlife Reserve.
  • Directions: From the North: Route 95 South to Exit 9; take Route 4 South to Exit 5A (Route 102 South, you'll see a Fiddlesticks on the right). Continue south through 3 sets of lights towards Wickford Village; at stop sign in Village, bear right over the Hussey bridge. (The Fleet Bank will be on your right at the stop sign.) Then go exactly 1.5 miles south on Route 1A and look for Hamilton Harbor sign on the left. Take that left, then immediately bear right onto access road; turn left into only driveway. Look for a large green farmhouse.
    From the South: Route 95 North to Exit 5A; bear right at fork. Turn left at light (Route 102 South) and continue for 10 miles; pass Fiddlesticks and proceed through 3 sets of light toward Wickford Village. You'll come to a stop sign in the Village with Fleet Bank on your right. Proceed 1.5 miles south on 1A; bear right over the Hussey Bridge. Pass 2 sets of lights and look for Hamilton Harbor sign. Take left at sign and bear right immediately; turn into first and only driveway on left. Look for a large green farmhouse.
    From Newport: Take Route 138 over Newport and Jamestown Bridge; take Wickford exit (first exit from Jamestown). Turn left onto Route 1A North (Boston Neck Road). Slow when you see Hamilton School on right; pass Salisbury Avenue and bear right onto access road. Turn into only driveway on right. Look for a large green farmhouse.
