Crosswinds Bed and Breakfast is a lovely federally styled farmhouse built in 1850. This pastoral centerpiece is nestled off of Scenic 1A just south of Wickford Village. We are located nine miles from Newport and the University of Rhode Island.

Crosswinds is delightfully furnished with an eclectic array of antiques. Bright and cheery in decor, the inviting and spacious guestrooms have a relaxing "home-away-from-home" feel. Each lodging accommodation features a comfortable queen- or king-sized bed, beautiful private bath, and air conditioning for added comfort during the warm summer months.

Each morning enjoy a full, hearty breakfast served in the charming formal dining room. Afterwards, feel free to relax on the back porch, view the gardens or sit under the arbor and watch nature at its best.

During your stay at Crosswinds, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the captivating and fragrant floral gardens. Visit the small farm animals. Delight in nearby Annaquatucket Pond, a majestic wildlife haven, or explore Rome Point, a wonderful 230-acre seaside wildlife reserve.

With Wickford Village just down the road, there is always plenty to do regardless of the season. The Village's 18th-century homes are gorgeous, and there is a plethora of unique shops to visit. Or, you may want to pack a lunch and spend a peaceful afternoon kayaking in the Village harbor.

Gilbert Stuart's Birthplace and Hamilton Cove are just a short drive away as well, and Smith Castle, Quonset Point, and Narragansett Beach can be reached within ten minutes. Newport, with its Cliff Walk and famous mansions, is only ten minutes away, or you can visit the city of Providence in 25 minutes. And for those who like to sample the grape, Sakonnett Vineyards beckons less than an hour away.
