The Haddie Pierce House Bed and Breakfast is one of Wickford's most historic and unique Inns. This three-story home was constructed in 1906, during the era that the tourist trade was starting to boom in this picturesque village.

Visitors came by carriage, by trolley, and finally in automobiles, to enjoy the historical ambiance and natural beauty of this seaside town. Haddie and Christopher Pierce built this charming home, complete with widow's walk, on a busy street corner of the village. At that time, the Seaview Railroad route ran past the house, and was only a short walk from the village dock, a port of call for the steam ships that would ferry visitors to Newport.

Today, while the train and ship have long passed into history, the Haddie Pierce House has retained its Victorian charm and elegance, earning it a place on the National Historic Register. Filled with antiques, period furnishings, and parquet floors it provides a welcome respite for any traveler.

Guest accommodations include air-conditioned restored rooms, all with private baths. All rooms are on the second floor, facing the main road or overlooking the garden. Each room is light and airy with comfort and cleanliness as a priority, and each is decorated with antiques and period furnishings. A hearty breakfast is served each morning, and tea is always available for sipping on the front porch.

A few minutes walk from The Haddie Pierce House, finds you at the beach on beautiful Narragansett Bay, or in the shops and boutiques of Wickford Village.

A short drive brings you to Newport and its famous mansions, Narragansett, the Block Island Ferry, Foxwoods Resorts Casino, Providence, and to Jamestown, home of the Beavertail Lighthouse. Enjoy swimming, beachcombing, and touring this historic region.

Whatever is on your agenda for your trip to the Ocean State, the Haddie Pierce House Bed and Breakfast has the warm and welcoming atmosphere that will make you want to come back again.
