The Atlantic Inn is the epitome of
relaxation, charm and elegance, as its unbreakable and
intimate romance with the ocean brings you an exceptional
lodging experience on Rhode Island's Block Island.
Situated atop six acres of rolling lawns
and set apart from the noise and the traffic, this manor
offers a commanding view of the village and exquisite beaches
... the perfect setting for a cuddlesome couple, vacationing
family, or wedding celebration.
The Atlantic Inn dates back to 1879, a
time when several of the mansion's antique collectibles would
be found. Each of the inn's 21 rooms is individually decorated
with original antiques, thoughtful prints, and lacy curtains
and possesses a private bath and telephone. From the moment
you recognize its blue mansard roof, wrap-around veranda, and
raised-bed cutting gardens, you are sure to feel that your
tranquil getaway has already begun. You can relax in a wicker
chair with a good book or simply be mesmerized by the lush
landscape and rolling waves and hills.
Breakfast at The Atlantic Inn would never
be considered "typical;" sumptuous creations are
made fresh daily by the resident pastry chef and await you in
continental elegance. Hot, homemade, secret recipe granola,
juice, fresh fruit, and other delights are just a sampling of
the delectables you will find at the inn. However, the
superiority of the inn's cuisine certainly does not end at
breakfast. The Inn's restaurant, open for romantic reservation
dinners, treats guests to a unique, relaxed, and unhurried
dining experience.

The grounds of the inn are dotted with
flower beds and host an almost regulation-size croquet court
and two new all-weather tennis courts. If you are not feeling
that outdoor-minded, relax on the veranda and take in the
view, especially the miniature replica of the inn, a favorite
among The Atlantic's younger guests.
Block Island has long been known for its
windswept beauty; its mild spring, summer, and fall weather;
and its diverse terrain, from the Moheagan Bluffs to Rodamn's
Hollow to the most exquisite beaches on the North Atlantic
Coast. It is a wondrous, unspoiled oasis for biking and
hiking, horseback riding, and nature trails. |
In addition, endless beaches provide
recreation as well as a majestic backdrop of perfect waves,
lighthouses, and bluffs with postcard-perfect imagery. Block
Island is also just a ferry ride to Rhode Island's mainland
and is close to both national forests and parks.
A charming Victorian out-building houses a
modern, conference room that is fully equipped for meetings up
to thirty people, an ideal setting for creative thinking. Make
sure to ask your hosts, Anne and Brad, about their special
occasion packages, including weddings and receptions of every
kind. See

The Atlantic Inn promises to be a piece of
heaven you'll want to return to someday. One happy guest
exclaimed that he and his wife "would really like to come
back!" This particular traveller happened to be the
President of the United States, Bill Clinton, with his wife
Hillary, commenting on the fabulous visit they had in August
of 1997. Remember: regardless of whether you are part of the
first family, The Atlantic Inn will treat you with first-class
style. |
