Brundred - Thomas Bed and Breakfast is a stylish
Victorian mansion built in 1883 and lovingly restored by
its owner, Jim Thomas, beginning in 2003. |
It is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places
and sits proudly on a quiet main street in Oil City,
Pennsylvania located half way between Erie and Pittsburgh.
Some of the distinguishing architectural features include
pediments with sunburst designs, an original ice delivery
door, a unique porch rail design and large leaded and beveled
glass windows. In the entrance foyer, cherry wainscoting and a
twenty-one light Queen Anne chandelier accent the welcoming
fireplace. The solarium has three walls of windows, a
fireplace, original oak radiator surrounds and crown molding.
The great room features two matching over-mantles, built-in
bookshelves, leaded/beveled glass door and double pocket doors
illuminated by five oversize windows.
Each guest accommodation is luxurious in its comforts and
evokes elegant Victorian times with touches like slate
mantles, carved four poster beds and original marble sinks.
The Brundred Suite has a sitting room connected through double
French doors. Most bedrooms boast original oak hardwood
floors, intricate built-ins and antique furnishings.
