Robert and Mary Lynn Martin are delighted to introduce to
you their unique restaurant and bed and breakfast. Hickory
Bridge Farm is located nine miles west of Gettysburg,
Pennsylvania at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
The country inn dates back to the 1700's as a working farm.
Today, the Martins still farm the fields. Dinner is now served
in the 150-year-old barn, and bed and breakfast lodging
accommodations are featured in the farmhouse and several
cottages.
The farm is beautiful during all the seasons. In the Spring,
guests enjoy the apple blossoms, the antique flea markets, and
trout fishing in the stream that winds through the farm.
Summer brings a feeling of freshness as produce and fresh
flowers are used from the gardens. Nearby activities during
the summer may include golf, swimming, antiquing, touring
Gettysburg, or going to the Totem Pole Playhouse. The fall
foliage flames the mountains with blazing colors, and the
crisp autumn air invites guests to take a lovely walk into the
mountains. Many fall harvest festivals and craft fairs are
celebrated in the area at this time of the year. In winter, a
blanket of snow transforms the farm into a picturesque winter
wonderland. A nearby ski resort, Ski Liberty, is frequently
enjoyed by guests.
Hickory Bridge Farm is a wonderful place to enjoy the sites,
sounds, and tastes of the country. Make plans to be spoiled by
its old-fashioned hospitality.
Bed and Breakfast:
Overnight lodging accommodations are available year 'round.
The country cottages are located in the woods and overlook a
well stocked trout stream. Each cottage has a nice large room
with private bath (shower) and a Franklin Stove fireplace.
Cottages accommodate two adults each and contain queen-size
beds. The farmhouse, also located near the stream, dates back
into the late 1700's. This house is decorated with antiques
and has private baths and queen- and king-size beds. Some of
the rooms in the farmhouse feature lovely whirlpool baths.
Whichever accommodations you choose, you will enjoy the utmost
in privacy. |
A full breakfast is featured Monday through Saturday at the
farmhouse. During the summer, breakfast is served on the back
porch which overlooks the creek. On Sundays, a continental "basket"
breakfast consisting of homemade sticky buns, muffins, fresh
fruit, juices, coffee and tea is taken to the cottage. The
Sunday newspaper is always included.
Fine Country Dining:
The barn was built in approximately 1850 with large chestnut
beams and boards. It is beautifully decorated with hundreds of
farm related antiques. Fine country dinners are served
farm-style and consist of appetizers, salads, breads, three
entrees (one of which is a seafood), vegetables, stewed
apples, corn fritters, dessert and beverage, all for one
price. Everything is prepared in the their own kitchen,
including the pie crusts. Special menus are available to
groups that are served Monday through Saturday at noon.
Regular dinner hours are Friday and Saturday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
and Sunday 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Reservations are advised. |
