Kanaga House, a limestone manor home on two acres of tree studded grounds, was built in 1775 by Joseph Junkin, son of one of the earliest settlers of Cumberland County. The current owners lovingly restored and refurnished the Inn with antiques, providing you with all the amenities you'd expect from a fine bed and breakfast. Distinctive, in a class of its own, Kanaga House is located in the Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey and Mechanicsburg area famous for its Civil War History and attractions as well as Dutch Country Amish communities.

The Bed and Breakfast affords seven guest rooms. Six have private baths, and one has a working fireplace. All rooms are air conditioned for those warm days and have high speed wireless Internet.

Unwind under the sun on one of the charming patios or escape into another world in the elegant gazebo where you can sip your favorite drink. The gazebo is a fanciful setting day or night with the twinkling lights. Perfect for a wedding or celebration.

A full country breakfast is served every morning. Dave Kretzing, manager and Executive Chef is known for outstanding food.

Kanaga House is ideally situated for quests to visit all major tourist attractions. Historic Carlisle, with its many antique shops, the Carlisle Production car shows and antique shows at the fairgrounds are within 10 minutes. Harrisburg, Gettysburg, and the Lancaster Dutch Country are all less than an hour away.

Hike the Appalachian Trail for nine miles and have lunch at the Boiling Springs Tavern (call us and we will pick you up for a ride back). Several fine golf courses are available nearby and Ski Roundtop has night and day chairlifts. Try the Climbnasium, just a block away.

The Inn is well situated for corporate executives of many companies nearby as well as visitors to Dickinson College and the Army War College.

Kanaga House is also available for small business meetings or seminars and special occasions such as weddings and receptions for 100 to 150 people.

Their Function Coordinator or Executive Chef will work with you in planning every detail to meet your expectations and budget
For a buffet served dinner or cocktail party the interior of Kanaga House can hold up to 75, with tenting many more.

Ideal for a board meeting or a small dinner, this room can serve up to 32 depending on table placement. The Williamsburg bar can be used when hiring our bartender.
