The Hilltop House Bed and Breakfast, a Dutch Victorian home
built in 1909, is located in the Hudson Valley amidst a bevy
of horse farms in the Berkshire foothills of Amenia, New York.
The Inn's air-conditioned lodging accommodations consist of
five guest rooms, three with a private, ensuite bath and two
that share a bath. Common areas at the Inn are wonderful
places to relax and visit with fellow guests. The living room
with its stone fireplace is an ideal place to unwind, or you
may chose the wraparound porch with gazebo on pleasant
evenings.
A hearty country breakfast is served on weekends in the
Hilltop House's formal dining room, with continental fare
available on weekdays. Various favorites include the Inn's
homemade granola, a fluffy omelette casserole, and delicious
blue corn pancakes.
Activities abound around Hilltop House. The nearby Harlem
Valley Rail Trail, a former railbed, provides great
cross-country skiing and is a favorite with hikers and bikers
as well. Skiers will especially love the location, just 30
minutes from the Catamount and Mohawk Mountain ski resorts.
The Ten Mile River, which runs through the neighboring Wassaic
State Forest multiple-use area, sets the scene for both
hunting and fishing. Other activities close by include golf,
horseback riding, and bowling. Visiting the many antique shops
and farmers markets is a wonderful afternoon excursion.
An endless number of opportunities plus comfortable
accommodations await you during your stay at Hilltop House Bed
and Breakfast. |
