Wide plank floors, overhead beams, and a huge stone
hearth in the bed and breakfast hotel's lobby beckon
guests to step back in time and recall a simpler and
gentler way of life. The Main Inn was completely remodeled
and refurbished in 1995. The Delamater, designed by
Alexander Jackson Davis, is one of the finest remaining
examples of American Carpenter Gothic and is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places. America's oldest inn
has 63 delightful lodging accommodations, each with
private bath, air conditioning, and television. A
selection of rooms also feature wood-burning fireplaces.

The Colonial Tap Room, in the center of the original Inn,
continues the tradition of serving travelers with the same
welcoming spirit that has made the Beekman Arms a favorite
resting place for over 200 years.
Set in the center of the walking village of Rhinebeck, the
Beekman Arms is the ideal base for exploring this fascinating
area. The Beekman Arms Antique Barn, featuring over 30
dealers, is home to an array of interesting shops and
galleries. The "Great Estates of Hudson Valley" is a
collection of nine grand estates open to the public, including
the Vanderbilt Mansion. For a taste of history, visit the Old
Rhinebeck Aerodrome, featuring WWI airshows, or the FDR Home
and Library. The Culinary Institute of America is nearby for
delicious samples. Many wineries dot the countryside, and the
Dutchess County Fair is an event not to be missed! |
