Sugar Loaf Bed and Breakfast, located in the Hudson River Valley and nestled in the foothills of the Catskills just a short drive from New York City, is a charming old Colonial furnished with early country and primitive antiques.

Mellow pine floors, hewn beams, sunny skylights, special baths (some with jetted tubs), comfy bedding, and a fragrant, bird-filled perennial garden extend the warmest of welcomes.

Charming accommodations, romantic ambiance, hearty country fare, fresh clean air, and considerate personal attention await you. The inn offers three delightful guest rooms, each with its own special character. All provide simple pleasures for guests during their stay, such as private baths, antique bedsteads topped with billowy down comforters, easy chairs, television (with an extensive offering of music), fresh flowers, and candles. The Garden Room and Carriage House have in-room fireplaces.

In fine weather, a hearty homemade breakfast is elegantly served in our enchanting garden (to the accompaniment of birdsong). Green market umbrellas shade al fresco diners. Guests, who prefer, may enjoy the indoor air-conditioned comfort of the Breakfast Room. In winter, or on chilly weekends, the Breakfast Room (the very earliest part of the house) is cheered by candlelight, a cozy fire, and light classical music.

Enjoy your own agenda, walk over to local shops and restaurants, or consider some other area attractions. Storm King Art Center is a renowned sculpture garden -- a great place to amble on a pretty day. West Point is another interesting site to explore. Museum Village sweeps you back to an earlier time and lifestyle. The New York State Renaissance Festival is an exciting summer attraction. Horseback riding, golf, hiking, antiquing, touring the wineries, and browsing at Woodbury Common Designer Outlet Mall are more possibilities.

Sugar Loaf Bed and Breakfast, in its quaint village setting, is the quintessential country getaway -- and just a surprising 53 miles from Manhattan.
