Residents of the barn include: a miniature horse, sheep, rabbits, and chicken (and often newborn chicks). The decor is dotted with an Eastern European influence, as is the morning meal. A full breakfast is included in the lodging fee. While you eat, you can get to know the other guests and your hostess, Mrs. Wanda Grunberg, a former biologist. She runs Log Country Inn along with some help from her husband, Slawomir, a documentary film producer for PBS.

Others have an international flair, including a Russian Room, African Room and Japanese Suite. Most of the rooms are air-conditioned and have their own private bathrooms.
