Rated Three Diamonds by AAA, The Trimmer
House Bed and Breakfast sits in the heart of New York's Finger
Lakes Region in historic downtown Penn Yan, named one of the
Top 100 Best Small Towns in America.
David Orville Trimmer, a wealthy wine merchant, built the
classic Queen Anne home for his wife and daughters in 1891.
More than a century later, Trimmer House owner Gary M. Smith,
a professor of hospitality management at Keuka College,
completed a no-expenses-spared restoration of the old home and
opened its doors to travelers in 1997.
The Trimmer House's accommodations comprise
four spacious guest rooms and a two-room suite. The suite and
one of the guest rooms both have fireplaces. All of the
accommodations offer private baths and are appointed with
period pieces complementary to the furniture found throughout
the home. Standard creature comforts include terry-cloth
bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers, irons with ironing boards,
cable television, and VCR and CD players. Each room also has
two phone lines with modem ports.
A fireplace in the library invites you to
curl up with a good book, and the warm jetted pulse of the
Trimmer House hot tub will leave you no choice but to relax.
For your listening pleasure, there's a music room, and all
guests have access to a video library and a complimentary
beverage service. Aside from modem ports, business travelers
will appreciate the fax and copier service as well as the
12-seat Trimmer House conference room.
Each day you'll enjoy the Trimmer House's
full gourmet breakfast; and for lunch and dinner, there are a
variety of fine restaurants mixed in with all the shops and
boutiques in downtown Penn Yan. |
Private beach:
The Trimmer House Bed and Breakfast owns several hundred
feet of private, secluded beach property on Seneca Lake (seen
in photo to the left). Seneca Lake is located just 5 miles (or
a 10 minute drive) from the inn. This property is available to
our guests for their use to picnic or enjoy water sports. A
sailboat and kayaks are available for rental.
The Trimmer House's premier downtown
location places you within walking distance of Keuka Lake and
the Keuka Outlet Trail, one of several nearby trails groomed
for hiking. There are several bike trails and parks close by,
and the Trimmer House Bed and Breakfast is just minutes away
from local farmers markets and crafts stores, as well as the
various wineries that make up the acclaimed Finger Lakes Wine
Region. |
