• Recommended Local Best Kept Secrets: Craft Co. #6 has lovely crafts (glass, porcelain, etc.), 11th Hour (gifts), Schoen Place (on canal) has many shops and restaurants, and Mendon Ponds Park-Chickadee Trail (hand feed the chickadees!)
• Directions: From New York State Thruway, take Exit 46, 390 North to Route 15A, (Exit 16). Go 5 traffic lights and bear right on South Avenue. Go 2 traffic lights and turn right on Alpine Street, which bears left into Mt. Vernon. Go 1 block to its intersection with Doctor's Road. Turn right on Doctor's Road and take an immediate left into the Inn's driveway.
