The Mill House Inn, a proud colonial bed &
breakfast inn, is located in the heart of Long Island, New
York's historic "East End," just a stroll away some
of the world's most spectacular beaches, and steps from shops,
galleries, restaurants and theatres.
Originally built in 1790, the inn was
renovated 1994, and the current-day owners, Gary and Sylvia
Muller, made their own improvements when they bought the
property in 1999 and again in 2006.
The end result is a collection of five
beautifully appointed guest rooms and five spectacular suites,
all with personalities of their own. The goal at the Mill
House Inn is to provide guests with the finest lodging the
area has to offer. To that end the Inn has recently renovated
the spacious suites - there's nothing like them in the
Hamptons!
The dog friendly suites feature king beds,
gas fireplaces, luxurious robes; oversized bathrooms with
double marble showers, six foot Serenity Air Baths and stone
floors with radiant heat; wet bars with a refrigerator,
ice-maker and microwave oven; Sharp Aquos Plasma flat screen
TVs, Polk ceiling speakers, DVD players, iPod docks, DSL and
wireless high speed Internet access. The suites in the Cottage
have private decks.
Room amenities include gas fireplaces,
whirlpool baths, extra thick Frette towels, fine linens, down
pillows and quilts, and lofty featherbeds; organic soaps,
lotions and bath salts; Sony Wega TVs with cable and DVD
players, telephones with voicemail, air conditioning, and much
more...
The inn's common rooms feature cozy leather
couches, mica lights, and antique furniture with a distinctive
country flair. The front porch offers a great view of the
historic Old Hook Mill across the street, and there's a big
old Maple tree to shade those comfortable Baldwin Adirondack
chairs that sit on the bluestone patio in the garden.
The Mullers serve breakfast in the inn's
sun-lit dining room. Many guests have proclaimed that
breakfast is "the best they have ever eaten" served
with old fashioned hospitality and a wonderful relaxed
atmosphere. |
Another great thing about the inn's
location is that it sits in a region whose climate is
relatively mild year-round. Yes, it is New York, but the Gulf
Stream waters help counter the harsh winters the remainder of
the state experiences. So your recreational options will
remain fairly open no matter when you choose to visit. Enjoy
golf, sailing, biking, fishing, tennis, horseback riding, and
all of those water sports entertained by the Atlantic.
The Bed and Breakfast is within walking
distance of some of the East End's finest restaurants. Mixed
in with all those great eateries are some terrific art
galleries, antique shops, and theater houses. A little further
down the road are many terrific beaches. You may consider
visiting the East End's bay shores, just a short drive away. |
