Specialty Recipe

Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

10 cups sliced apples

1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons granulated sugar

Topping:

1-1/2 cups brown sugar

1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons flour

6 Tablespoons butter

6 Tablespoons margarine

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place apple slices, 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, and sugar in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Spread in a lightly buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, butter, margarine, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt. Blend with a pastry cutter. Do not allow to become too moist. Spread crumbs evenly over apple mixture and pat down.

Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are thoroughly cooked. If topping browns too fast, place a sheet of brown paper on top. Serve slightly warm with whipped cream.

Serves: approximately 10
