Convenient
Getaway... Beaverkill Valley Inn, a country inn
with full amenities just 2 hours northwest of New York City by
car, gives you year-round access to outdoor activities,
including world-class fly fishing on the Beaverkill River.
Relax and reconnect with nature, take a break from the city
and enjoy a romantic getaway at the Beaverkill Valley Inn.
Beautiful
Surroundings... Located in the historic Catskill
State Park Region of New York and listed on the New York State
and National Registers of Historic Places, the Inn was
originally built in 1895 as a trout fishing lodge. Today, the
Beaverkill Valley Inn is one of the few remaining lodges in
the area from that period and features understated elegance
and premiere service for an unforgettable lodging experience.
Full
Country Inn... The original inn building offers 20
bed and breakfast accommodations with private and assigned
baths in addition to a dining room, game room, Victorian bar,
and sundeck. There are two outdoor tennis courts, a casting
pond, and extensive hiking and cross-country trails
surrounding the Inn. For an additional fee, guests can enjoy
all that the adjacent barn building has to offer, including an
indoor swimming pool, self-serve ice cream parlor, conference
facilities, greenhouse, fitness room, basketball court, and
children's playroom.
Noted
cuisine... Chef Christina Jurgens and the staff
take great pride in the Inn's cuisine, which has been noted in
several publications, including Gourmet
Magazine. Generally served in the Inn's formal oak
dining room or on the outdoor deck, meals are prepared using
the freshest and most seasonal foods, including herbs from the
Inn's garden. The Inn takes pride in making its own breads and
desserts. All guests enjoy a hearty breakfast plus afternoon
tea, and you have the option of adding lunch and dinner to
your lodging stay. For additional alternatives, the General
Store, under the same ownership as the Inn, is closeby.
Year-around
Activities... Winter is one of the more active
times to visit. Whether you anticipate the fun of ice skating
on the Inn's pond, cross-country skiing, or ice fishing, there
is something for everyone to enjoy. Downhill skiing and
snowboarding are available at nearby Belleayre Mountain and
Plattekill Ski Area.
With spring comes the opportunity to hike,
bike, and nature watch, just as the wildflowers arrive and the
dogwood trees bloom after their winter rest. Or you might
prefer to visit in the autumn months, when spectacular fall
foliage, apple picking, and cider making set the stage for a
peaceful getaway. |
There are so many reasons to visit
Beaverkill Valley Inn for your well-deserved holiday. Whether
you come for the comfortable accommodations, spectacular
dining, fly fishing, or the superior service, the Beaverkill
Valley Inn provides a memorable vacation experience.
Fly-fishing...
Throughout the seasons, you can enjoy the scenery
and serenity of the area through the many outdoor activities
available.
Fly fishermen have access to one mile of
private water on the upper Beaverkill River, considered the
birthplace of American dry-fly fishing and the reason many
guests return each year. April through October offers you a
chance to experience some of the best fly fishing in the world
just 100 feet away from the Inn.
Aficionados will also want to venture to
the Catskill Valley Fly Fishing Center and Museum, less than
10 miles away. |
