Garnet Hill Lodge is nestled high in the Adirondacks of New
York overlooking pristine Thirteenth Lake and the mountains of
the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area near Gore Mountain Ski Area.
The Lodge was built in 1936 by the original mine developer
in the area, Frank Hooper. Dubbed The Log House, it has a
spacious great hotel lodge feel with a rustic Adirondack
warmth and charm. The front windows offer a magnificent lake
and mountain view, while huge stone hearth beckons you to stay
and relax. The garnet stone fireplace is ringed with rocking
chairs and couches. Some guests have been known to spend
entire stay right here, curled up with their favorite novel.
The large main room in the Log House contains the reception
desk and the main dining room at Garnet Hill. Off this main
room are two other lounges, a TV room, and a four season
dining porch.
Upstairs in the Log house are sixteen guest rooms, each
with a private bath. Nine of the front rooms have balconies
and a grand view of the lake and mountains beyond. More guest
accommodations are located in other buildings, The Birches
great for families because of it large common room, and The
Tea House with luxury rooms offering king beds and whirlpool
tubs.
Enjoy a full breakfast at Garnet Hill before you start your
day. Garnet Hill is also a full service restaurant
specializing in a variety of entrees and homemade breads and
desserts. A new addition to the Log House is the Miner's Pub -
serving draft beers, wine and spirits.

Garnet Hill Lodge Resort also offers Vacation Rental Homes
for more private independent stays. All homes have from 3 to 7
bedrooms and fully equipped kitchens. Most Adirondack homes
and mountain chalets have washers, dryers, microwaves, TV's
and fireplaces or woodstoves.
Local North River activities include cross country skiing,
snowshoeing, skiing and snowboarding at Gore Mountain Ski
area, hiking in the Adirondacks, fishing, nature study and
ecology, birding, golf, tennis, swimming, boating, canoeing,
